Dr. Lebohang Liepollo Pheko

Dr. Lebohang Liepollo Pheko is a globally respected political economist, activist scholar,and public intellectual whose work spans five continents and 30 years. She bringsvisionary leadership across diplomacy, development, political economics, andgovernance. She has been a prolific media commentator and conference speaker forover 20 years.

A Senior Research Fellow at Trade Collective, she leads pioneering research on tradejustice, post-COVID African recovery, and decolonial economic alternatives, with recentWellbeing Economics studies in South Africa, Malawi, Vietnam, New Zealand, Bhutan,and Indonesia. She serves on the National Planning Commission, the Walter and PatriciaRodney Commission on Reparations, and is an Ambassador and Co-Chair of theWellbeing Economy Alliance.

Dr. Pheko has taught internationally, addressed the UN, EU, and AU, and lived and workedin 52 countries. She is committed to shaping policy, building conversations and shiftingglobal economic discourses.
